New York Fashion Week: Top 3 Favorites

Hi everyone! If you didn't know, this week is the New York fashion week extravaganza. Unfortunately I didn't receive an invite(*shrugs*), but it's okay maybe next year. Through social media, magazines(Vogue especially), and YouTube I have been keeping up with my favorite designers. Fashion is definitely subjective, so some designs I thought were great and some not so much. I also wish models were more covered on top, but hey I don't make the rules. Focusing on the positive, I'd like to share my top three favorite designers for Spring/Summer 2016.

P.S. I provided links for images of each collection.

#1
   Diane von Furstenberg:
Spring 2016 Ready-to-Wear
(known for the "wrap-dress")

DVF's name is quite the tongue twister, however she makes a clear statement. What I love most about this collection is the use of color and print. These elements bring so much life and movement to an outfit. In addition,DVF incorporated a variety of options from jumpsuits (my fav) to dresses.

#2
Tory Burch:
Spring 2016 Ready-to-Wear
(known for color and detail)

Similarly to DVF, Tory Burch also plays with fun colors and pattern. Her choice of fabrics and texture give the collection a casual easy-going feel, yet classy and chic. I also love that some of the models wore flats; let's be honest heels aren't comfortable.

#3
Oscar de La Renta:
Spring 2016 Ready-to-Wear
(known for "couture like" ready-to-wear)

I had to save the best for last. Oscar de la Renta ventures into the more elegant and couture side of ready to wear. The use of rich colors give a regal essence to the entire collection. I love that it delivers so much sophistication and gives a bit of an exotic feel.

Honorable Mentions: Ralph Lauren, Michael Kors, and Coach.

Devotional Corner
"No Mistakes"
Romans 8:28-30 NLT

28 "And we know that God causes everything to work together[m] for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. 29 For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn[n] among many brothers and sisters. 30 And having chosen them, he called them to come to him. And having called them, he gave them right standing with himself. And having given them right standing, he gave them his glory."

This is a friendly reminder that God is in full control and He has a purpose for your life. Whatever tribulations or tests we're facing,we will overcome them with a story to tell. We are examples to show others that there is hope when we put trust in God. Everything will work out when we give complete control to God. We can't do everything on our own as much as we'd like to think. God has the blueprints to our lives and because He loves us (and we love Him), we will not fail.

Stay Chic!
