"No limits"
Psalm 112:7-8 NLT

7"They do not fear bad news; they confidently trust the Lord to care for them. 8. They are confident and fearless and can face their foes triumphantly."

No matter what situation you are facing, God is in control. He is limitless and has all the power to carry you through. If something doesn't go has planned, trust that God has something greater in store for you. God cares for us and wants us to succeed in life. Tackle your enemies and obstacles with confidence in God, because He has your back.

Back 2 School Outfit

Hello wonderful people! That time of the year has come again, school. Ready or not my fall semester is starting in a week and summer break is no longer *insert sad face*. On the flip-side, I'm one step closer to earning my business degree.

I'm all about comfort when it comes to dressing for school. My campus isn't massive but there's enough walking to work up a sweat. I'm not much of a sneaker person, so slip-ons are a comfy option for me. I love the look of denim with crisp white and a pop of print.

P.S. Don't forget to bring a light sweater or jacket, because classrooms are usually cold.

"Amnesia"
Judges 8:33-35 NLT

33" As soon as Gideon died, the Israelites prostituted themselves by worshiping the images of Baal, making Baal-berith their god. 34 They forgot the Lord their God, who had rescued them from all their enemies surrounding them. 35 Nor did they show any loyalty to the family of Jerub-baal (that is, Gideon), despite all the good he had done for Israel."

The Israelites quickly forgot all the things the Lord had done for them. God sent Gideon to help deliver the Israelites from their enemies. Soon after the victory, they slipped into old habits. There are two lessons we can learn from their mistakes. The first is never forget what God has done for you. No matter the significance, He deserves recognition because He's not obligated to do anything for us. All our success is not by our own strength, but through His mercy and power. The second lesson is getting rid of old habits when God delivers you. We have to change our mindset and ask God for guidance when we're slipping. Let's make the effort to be grateful and obedient to God.

The Cocktail Dress

Happy Friday everyone! Last week I went to Atlanta for a little get away. I thought Florida heat was pretty bad, but Georgia heat is just as humid. I honestly can't wait for fall and winter to come. Until then I'm roughing it out.

At the end of my trip I went to my relatives' church and picked a simply cocktail dress to wear. I love the detailed pattern, but my favorite part is the key hole back and exposed zipper.Thankfully my dress was sleeveless because it was boiling and I decided it was a good idea to wear black. When wearing pattern it's good to keep your accessories simple so your outfit doesn't clash.

"Tell the Truth"
2 Timothy 4:3-5 NLT

3 "For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. 4 They will reject the truth and chase after myths. 5 But you should keep a clear mind in every situation. Don’t be afraid of suffering for the Lord. Work at telling others the Good News, and fully carry out the ministry God has given you."

The truth can be a difficult pill to swallow at times. Sometimes we want people to tell us what we want to hear rather than what we need to hear. It's important to accept when we're wrong, but also help others when you see they are headed in the wrong direction. Ask God for wisdom and strength to stand strong in your beliefs. As a Christian we will face resistance, but we can't be afraid to tell the truth.God's given us all gifts so we can share His message of hope and love. Use your gift!

Tropical Print

Happy Friday everyone! I am definitely a person that isn't afraid of patterns and print. The best thing about summer is all the colorful prints you can wear that wouldn't necessarily work in the winter. So for today's "ootd" I went with a floral maxi kimono. The tropical print makes me feel like I'm on an exotic vacation, maybe Hawaii (a girl can dream). Since I'm petite, I wanted to pair the kimono with high waisted denim shorts to elongate my legs.

"Living Water"
John 4:13-15 NLT

13 Jesus replied, "Anyone who drinks this water will soon become thirsty again. 14. But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life." 15."Please, sir," the woman said,"give me this living water! Then I'll never be thirsty again, and I won't have to come here to get water."

This passage is in reference to Jesus' (a Jew) encounter with a Samaritan (lower class) woman at a well. One lesson we can learn from this passage is that Jesus showed love to everyone. Everyone should have the opportunity to know Him, no matter how low they get. This Samaritan woman did not live the purest life, but one encounter with Jesus changed her path. This "water" Jesus is referring to is the Holy Spirit and God's love living inside us. In this we have everlasting life if we believe in it. Other "water" such as partying, drugs, etc only give temporary pleasure. God's Spirit never runs dry and in Him, we have eternal peace.

Denim x Denim

Happy Sunday! I hope everyone reading is having a great day. Sadly, my computer and I are going through a rough patch, so I haven't been posting consistently. Hopefully by the end of the summer I can buy a new laptop.

Aside from that, this past weekend was Father's Day. My dad isn't too keen about social media or being on the internet. However, I love him so much I just had to share a little throwback photo. I find it so much harder to shop for my dad because he always says,"whatever you guys get me is fine."After brainstorming, my mom and I decided to buy him new cologne. We took him out to eat and gave him extra especial attention (he never turns that down). It was a successful father's day overall and I'm thankful for a caring father.

I'm currently loving the denim on denim trend and decided to go for a dark wash skirt paired with a Jean chambray shirt.

"Mind your tongue"
Matthew 15:11,18 NLT

11 "What goes into someone's mouth does not defile them, but what comes out of their mouth, that is what defiles them.18 But the things come out of a person's mouth come from the heart, and these defile them."

Another word for defile is to spoil or tarnish. We all try to do the right thing and live a "Godly" lifestyle, but sometimes we tend to forget how we treat people during that process. If you see someone going through a struggle, pray for them don't judge them. God is the only one with the right to judge others. What comes from your mouth comes directly from your heart and inner thoughts. God is far more interested in our hearts than what we put on the outside. It's our duty to love one another and pray for those in need.
